Monday morning, February 26, the Front Royal-Warren County Economic Development Authority (EDA, FR-WC EDA) and County Director of Economic Development Joe Petty issued a press release summarizing the EDA’s regular monthly meeting of Friday, February 23. It noted that six of seven board members, Petty, and legal counsel were present for the 8:00 AM meeting, with Hayden Ashworth absent.

The regular meeting began with committee and board reports. Jim Wolfe provided a recap of the EDA’s budget presentation to the Warren County Board of Supervisors held the previous day. Jorie Martin gave an update on the multiple properties the EDA currently has under contract, with some scheduled to close within the coming months. County Director of Economic Development Petty reported on an increase in business prospect inquiries, meetings with businesses regarding State grant opportunities, and progress on the Leach Run Parkway and Industrial Park Signage projects.

The Board concluded the meeting with a closed session to discuss the potential disposition of real property to business prospects and legal consultation on active litigation. Following the closed session, the Board approved a motion to draft a lease for a grazing lease at 934 Happy Creek Road.

The next regular monthly Board meeting will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024, at 8:00 AM, at the Warren County Government Center.
