The Summer Reading program is a highlight of the library’s calendar, encouraging children to develop a love for reading and keep their minds active during summer break. The Elks Lodge’s donation will allow the library to offer high-quality resources and activities, ensuring the program remains engaging and accessible to local families.

Samuels Public Library Director Erin Rooney expressed her appreciation for the continued partnership. “We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Front Royal Elks Lodge No. 2382 for their generous donation in support of our upcoming youth Summer Reading Program. Their contribution helps us provide an enriching experience for young readers in our community, fostering a love of books and learning that will last a lifetime,” Rooney said.

The Elks Lodge has been a steady supporter of Samuels Public Library for years, funding past Summer and Winter Reading programs and sponsoring “A Taste for Books,” the library’s signature fundraising event. Youth Department Manager Michal Ashby praised the Lodge’s unwavering commitment to the children’s programs.

“The Front Royal Elks Lodge has made such a huge contribution to the Children’s Department for over a decade! They have helped us engage the community by sponsoring Summer Reading and Winter Reading programs and have even contributed to our general programs that we have throughout the year. Their dedication to literacy and this community is outstanding!” Ashby said.

Community members can support the library by attending A Taste for Books: Movie Magic, the next big fundraising event scheduled for Saturday, April 26, 2025. The event promises a lively night of food and fun, with tickets on sale now.
