George Frederick Nadeau Jr. (1957 – 2026)

George Frederick Nadeau Jr., 69, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Warren Memorial Hospital in Front Royal.

George was born in Ancon, Canal Zone, Panama, to the late George Frederick Nadeau Sr. and Grayce Gravatt Nadeau. While growing up in the Canal Zone, he achieved Order of the Arrow with the Boy Scouts and then devoted his professional life to law enforcement, retiring in 2016 from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives after more than 32 years of service. Prior to his various federal careers, George served with the Canal Zone Police Department and the Chattanooga Police Department in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Most recently, he worked as a Simulator Instructor at the National Law Enforcement Museum. George had been a dedicated supporter of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund community since 1991 and served as a National Police Week volunteer since 2022 before joining the Museum staff as a simulator instructor in 2023.

George was a 32nd Degree Freemason and held memberships with Harrison Lodge #114 in Harrison, Tennessee; Lookout Commandery #14 in Ootawah, Tennessee; West Point Masonic Lodge No. 238 A.F. & A.M., West Point, Virginia; and the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry in Richmond, Virginia. He was also a former member of the Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club VA III, and the North/South Skirmish Association.

Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Brenda Nadeau of Front Royal, Virginia; his sisters, Karen Price of College Station, Texas, and Lana Gagnon of Jacksonville, Florida; and his brother, Randall Nadeau, also of Jacksonville, Florida.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
