Page County: Shots fired between vehicles – man arrested, charged with attempted 2nd degree murder

On May 28th, 2018, the Page County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of Shots Fired between two vehicles traveling on Big Oak Road, in the County of Page.

Deputies from the Page County Sheriff’s Office, and officers from the Stanley Police Department, were able to locate the suspect vehicle on U.S. Highway Business 340 in the Town of Stanley, and initiated a traffic stop. Upon further investigation, it was determined that an occupant of the suspect vehicle, Dakota Allen Foster, allegedly fired a handgun into a vehicle operated by a subject not known to Foster.

As a result of information gained through the initial investigation, Foster has been charged with Attempted Second Degree Murder (VA Code 18.2-32), Shoot at/from a Moving Vehicle (VA Code 18.2-154) and Alteration of Weapon Serial Number (VA Code 18.2-311.1). Foster is currently being held without bond at RSW Regional Jail.

This matter has been assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division of the Page County Sheriff’s Office, and investigation into this matter is continuing. Additional charges may result pending the completion of the investigation. As a result of the continuing investigation, the Page County Sheriff’s Office will not release any further information at this time.
