South Warren Ruritan Club Spaghetti Dinner: A Feast for Education

Published

on

The South Warren Ruritan Club is warming the pots for its much-anticipated annual spaghetti dinner. This community event promises a delightful culinary experience and supports a noble cause. Hosted by the generous hearts of the South Warren Ruritan Club, this dinner isn’t just about savoring the best spaghetti in town; it’s about laying down the foundation for the future of Warren County’s youth.

A Tradition of Giving Back

This year, the event, highlighted by Mike McCool in the Royal Examiner Studio alongside club members Rick Logan and Chuck Brome, stands out as the club’s flagship fundraiser. The primary goal? Funding academic scholarships for Warren County high school graduates venturing into higher education. “It’s our biggest [event],” Logan states, emphasizing the significance of the dinner in supporting the club’s philanthropic ventures.

The scholarships, named in honor of esteemed community members Edgar Baldwin, Berkeley Pomeroy, and Lloyd Baltimore, are a beacon of hope for students from Warren and Skyline High Schools. With one scholarship open to applicants from either institution, the initiative showcases the club’s commitment to educational advancement.

More Than a Meal

The spaghetti dinner, set to be a blend of delicious food and vibrant community spirit, will be held at Skyline High School on Saturday, April 13th, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. True to the spirit of fellowship, the event adopts a “free will offering” approach, inviting attendees to contribute as they wish, fostering a sense of community and generosity.

The evening promises more than endless servings of spaghetti, bread, salad, and desserts. Attendees can look forward to a silent auction featuring items and gift cards from local businesses alongside coveted cakes from community celebrities like Doris Miller and Jennifer Sims. The auction, known for stirring excitement with bids reaching up to $75, adds a flavorful twist to the dinner’s allure.

Entertainment and Engagement

The dinner will feature live entertainment from the duo Chicken and Dumplings, setting the stage for an enjoyable, community-bonding evening. This addition underscores the club’s efforts to evolve the event, ensuring a memorable experience for all ages.

As the Ruritan Club continues to serve and support the Warren County community through events like the spaghetti dinner, it echoes the values of community service, goodwill, and fellowship. With over 60 sponsors and the unwavering support of local businesses and individuals, the South Warren Ruritan Club’s spaghetti dinner is more than a meal; it’s a celebration of community unity and a commitment to the future.

Join the Feast and the Cause

Mark your calendars for April 13th and join the South Warren Ruritan Club at Skyline High School for an evening that promises great food, company, and cause. Whether you’re looking to indulge in delicious spaghetti, participate in the silent auction, or enjoy the company of fellow community members, the annual spaghetti dinner is an event you won’t want to miss. Together, let’s help turn dreams into degrees for Warren County’s youth.
