A Call for Reflection: Love, Faith, and True Patriotism in Our Community

Published

on

In the 1960s, John F. Kennedy ran for president. Though he was a Catholic, he was elected, and despite concerns from many, he did not attempt to turn the United States into a theocracy. Mr. Jamison, wake up and take a deep look at your motives.

I respect your commitment to your Catholic faith; however, I don’t want your commitment to dictate my faith or way of life through your vision of the world. When I drive into Front Royal, I see large signs promoting love. Let’s not allow hate for others to be the driving force in our hearts. As the Second Commandment states: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

And a tip—wearing a beaked hat with patriotic words doesn’t make you a patriot.

Thank you.

P.S. I don’t hate you, Mr. Jamison. I hate what you do.
