Trump’s 2025 Actions Demand Accountability—And Impeachment Should Be on the Table

When I was thinking of writing this piece, I went online to research the exact wording of Trump’s Executive orders issued so far in 2025. I soon became overwhelmed, and I thought twice about expressing my views. However, realizing that overwhelming us is part of his strategy, I can’t just sit by and watch as he continues to build “one nation under Trump.”

As he did in his first term, Trump is withdrawing from international organizations that share resources to make our world a better place. How does quitting the World Health Organization help us and the millions of suffering worldwide?

He pardoned and released the rioters who ransacked our Capitol Building and attacked Capitol Police. How does that make us safer?

Trump declared that there are only two sexes: male and female. He calls this Executive Order “Defending Women from Gender Extremism.”

He is renaming national and international landmarks on a whim. The Gulf of Mexico is now the Gulf of America.

Every president feels obligated to address the Nation after a national disaster. This man says very few words of sympathy for the families of the victims and then jumps into a litany of criticism of those who were tasked with handling those emergencies. According to Trump, Governor Newsom was ill-prepared for one of the most destructive fires in California history. FEMA failed to help North Carolinians recover from a historic hurricane. If Trump had been president then, would he have traveled to North Carolina to throw them a roll of paper towels as he did when Puerto Rico suffered a devastating hurricane? Perhaps the most shameful of all of these speeches was that which followed the DC plane crash. He expressed his disapproval of agencies, including the FAA, for promoting diversity in hiring.

We do not have to put up with President Trump for four years. Congress has the power to impeach him.
