State Champions! Front Royal 12U All-Stars Advance to Southeast Regionals

After more than six decades of waiting, Front Royal Little League is back on top.

In a heart-stopping game filled with lead changes and clutch moments, the Front Royal 12U All-Stars captured the Virginia State Championship with a dramatic 6–5 win over SYA on Wednesday evening at Caroline County Little League. The victory marks the town’s first state title since 1962 and sends the boys to Warner Robins, Georgia, where they will represent Team Virginia at the Southeast Regional Tournament, the final step before the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

As the final out was recorded, cheers erupted not just from the team, but from the crowd of hundreds of Front Royal supporters who had made the trip, many of them following behind a Warren County Sheriff’s Office escort that led the team out of town that morning.

But the celebration was hard-earned.

SYA, one of the tournament’s toughest teams, came out swinging, scoring a run in the top of the first inning. Front Royal wasted no time in responding. Hunter Seal lined a single down the right field line to even the score, followed by a sacrifice fly from Remi Wines and a heads-up run scored on a passed ball to give Front Royal a 3–1 edge.

SYA didn’t fold, though. In the second inning, they stormed back to reclaim the lead, capitalizing on timely hits and aggressive baserunning. Yet again, Front Royal showed the kind of grit that’s come to define their run—plating two more in their half of the inning thanks to a groundout and a key error by the defense.

They never trailed again.

“Our boys have been building to this moment for years,” said Manager Joe Cook. “They’ve trained together, played together, and grown together. This team is truly a brotherhood.”

Indeed, for many of these players—like TJ Cook, Jase Delfi, Hunter Seal, Remi Wines, Titus Good, Max Elliott, Miles Henry, Kam McIntyre, Tye Kincer, Kirk Briggs II, Deuce Newman, and Jace Mclendon—this season has been the final chapter of a journey that started back when they were just 8 years old. That year, they won their first District Championship. At age 10, they came within a game of a state title. And now, they’ve reached the summit.

The championship win does more than add a trophy to the Front Royal Little League clubhouse. It earns the team the right to wear “Virginia” across their chests at the Southeast Regional Tournament in Georgia, running from July 31 to August 6.

For a team built on the motto “control what you can control,” this moment is the result of years of hard work, persistence, and heart.

The town of Front Royal is rallying behind its champions. A fundraising effort led by the Hike Kidz Foundation, in partnership with Brickhouse Bar & Grill, has launched to help cover travel, lodging, and tournament expenses. With a goal of $12,000 ($1,000 per player), the community is stepping up once again—just as they did in the stands at the state tournament.

Donations can be made through the online platform Givebutter, and a special fundraiser celebration will be held on Sunday from 12 to 4 p.m. at Brickhouse Bar & Grill. Stop by and meet the team. And don’t forget the live watch party on Thursday, July 31, with pregame at 6 p.m. and game time at 7 p.m.

“Win or lose in Georgia, they’ve already made us proud,” said Assistant Coach Jesse Henry. “But these boys aren’t done yet.”

With their eyes now set on Warner Robins, and a shot at the Little League World Series in Williamsport—the Front Royal 12U All-Stars carry more than bats and gloves. They carry the hopes of a town that believes in them.

And after Wednesday night, they’ve given that town a reason to believe that anything is possible.
