Diabetes Reversal Group Brings Health Awareness Campaign to Valley Baseball League
A new partnership with the Valley Baseball League is helping raise awareness of Type 2 diabetes and alternative treatment options across communities in the Shenandoah Valley.
Bob Marulli and Tracy Edwards of Diabetes Reversal Group recently spoke about their organization’s mission to educate people living with Type 2 diabetes about lifestyle-based approaches that may help improve their health. The organization is also working with the Valley Baseball League through a campaign called “Swing for Health.”
Marulli explained that Diabetes Reversal Group uses a telemedicine-based system focused on nutrition, exercise, supplements, coaching, and education to help participants better manage Type 2 diabetes.
“Diabetes Reversal Group is a patented system on how we reverse type 2 diabetes,” Marulli said during the interview.
The program typically lasts about four to four-and-a-half months and includes coaching support, educational videos, meal guidance, and personalized accountability. Marulli said coaching is one of the most important parts of the process because lasting lifestyle changes require consistent support.
Unlike traditional approaches that often rely heavily on medication, Marulli said the program focuses on addressing the root causes of Type 2 diabetes through lifestyle changes while still working closely with patients’ doctors.
“We’re not cutting them out of this equation,” Marulli explained. “The doctor will decide when it’s time to recalibrate the meds.”
According to the organization, success is measured through improvements in A1C levels, which reflect average blood sugar levels over roughly three months. Marulli said the group defines a full reversal as achieving an A1C level of 5.9 or lower without diabetic medications.
Edwards works on the charitable side of the organization, helping raise funds for people who may not be able to afford the program.
“Some of the people don’t have access financially for whatever reason,” Edwards said. “So what we do on the charity side is we raise money so that we can help those people afford the program.”
The partnership with the Valley Baseball League was designed to bring the message directly into local communities. Through the “Swing for Health” campaign, the organization has placed signage and awareness materials throughout league ballparks across the Valley.
Marulli said the league’s strong community connections made it a natural fit.
The interview also highlighted the emotional and mental challenges many people face while dealing with diabetes and other health conditions. Both guests stressed that education and encouragement are critical to long-term success.
“Results happen within a week,” Marulli said, noting that early improvements often help motivate participants to stay committed to healthier habits.
The organization currently operates in multiple countries and provides support entirely through telemedicine, allowing participants to access support from home or while traveling.
