Robert Burns Night Brings Scottish Tradition to the Virginia Beer Museum

Published

on

The Virginia Beer Museum hosted its 8th annual Robert Burns celebration on Saturday, February 7, 2026, welcoming guests for an evening steeped in Scottish tradition, poetry, music, and community.

The event honored the life and work of Robert Burns, Scotland’s national poet, whose verses and legacy have been celebrated around the world for more than two centuries. Guests gathered throughout the museum to enjoy traditional food, locally crafted beer, and live bagpipe music performed by Adam Tianello, whose stirring melodies set the tone for the night.

Poetry readings were a central part of the celebration, with guest readers including Jesse Dent and Patti Baggerly, who brought Burns’ words to life for an engaged and appreciative audience.

Poetry takes center stage as Jesse Dent and Patti Baggerly read selections from Robert Burns’ work to a captivated audience.

Owned by David Downes, the Virginia Beer Museum has made the annual Robert Burns Night a staple event, blending history, culture, and camaraderie in a relaxed and welcoming setting. Kilts, tartans, laughter, and raised glasses filled the rooms as Scottish themes flowed throughout the evening.

By night’s end, the celebration proved once again why the event continues to draw a loyal following — offering not just a nod to history, but a shared experience rooted in tradition, storytelling, and good company.
