On the Word “No!”

Published

on

This applies to both parties, both houses of Congress and to all elected officials:

“No!” You are not self-employed! I, the American voter, am your boss and your supervisor!

“No!” Your first priority is NOT your own re-election!

“No!” It is NOT okay to misspend taxpayer money on yourself, your family, or your friends!

“No!” It is NOT okay for you to receive any pension beyond a self-purchased plan!

“No!” It is NOT okay for you to exempt yourself from contributing to Social Security!

“No!” It is NOT okay for you to accept any government-provided healthcare benefit beyond the Tricare you provide for our military forces!

“No!” It is NOT okay for you to slip “pork” (or, “earmark”) amendments into any other piece of legislation. If it’s worth voting for, it stands alone, on its own merit!

“No!” It is NOT okay for you to propose or vote upon on any legislative measure or measures which require expenditure of funds greater than the previous year’s revenues. In brief: this year’s spending must never exceed last year’s revenue.

“No!” It is NOT okay for you to burden the next generation with this generation’s debt!

“No!” It is NOT okay for you to use time, funds, vehicles, computers, or any other resources of the government for any purpose other than accomplishing the legitimate work of the government!

“No!” It is NOT okay to accept money, vacations, or gifts from lobbyists or anyone else who is seeking largesse, benefits, or contracts from the federal government, or to propose or vote-upon any legislative measure which benefits your financial holdings, your business, your friends’ businesses, or the businesses of any of your family members!

“No!” It is NOT okay for you to ignore, to expunge, or to relegate to the trash-bin the very Judeo-Christian values which this nation’s forefathers specifically included in their deliberations and within the documents which founded this nation!

Yes! You must abide by the Constitution you promised by “oath” to support and defend!

And, “Yes” I will use that same Constitution to vote you out of office. That’s why I do not need to add “term limits” to the Constitution. I already have the right to terminate your employment!
