FRONT ROYAL – Candidates seeking the Democratic nomination for the 6th District House seat being vacated by retiring Congressman Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) will attend  a candidates’ forum on Saturday, May 5th at the Warren County Community Center, 538 Villa Avenue in Front Royal.

The four Democratic candidates, Charlotte Moore of Roanoke, Jennifer Lewis of Waynesboro, Sergio Coppolla of Rockingham County,  and Peter Volosin of Roanoke will be discussing issues and answering questions from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM. The event is open to the public.

The Democratic candidate for the fall election will be chosen in the June 12 Democratic primary.

The candidates will begin by answering questions chosen by the Warren County Democratic Committee, then open up the floor to questions from the  audience.

Tristan Shields, recent candidate for the Virginia House of Delegates from the 18th VA House District (Fauquier and Warren), will be the moderator.

Bob Goodlatte, who has held the 6th District House seat  for 26 years, announced his resignation two days after the Nov. 6, 2017 elections in which Democrats came just two seats shy of taking a majority of the Virginia House of Delegates.

The 6th Congressional District covers most of the Shenandoah Valley, including Amherst, Augusta, Bath, Botetourt, Highland, Page, Rockbridge, Rockingham, Shenandoah, and Warren counties, as well parts of Bedford and Roanoke Counties.
