Dinner, Drama, and a Deadly Twist: ‘Murder Me, Always’ Comes to Front Royal

Published

on

A night at the theater in Front Royal is about to take a deadly—and hilarious—turn.

Selah Theatre Project is bringing an interactive dinner theater experience to the stage with Murder Me, Always, a comedy that blends mystery, chaos, and audience participation. The show runs May 22-24 at the Stone Branch Center for the Arts.

Written by Lee Mueller and directed by Selah Theatre Artistic Director Bleu Do’zia, the production begins as a traditional murder mystery play. But partway through the performance, the story takes an unexpected twist when the director is shot for real, turning the staged drama into an actual whodunit.

What follows is a mix of comedy and suspense as Detective Joe Mamet steps in to solve the crime. The hard-boiled investigator must sort through a cast of wildly unprepared actors to uncover the truth—while the audience watches, and even becomes part of, the unfolding mystery.

Murder Me, Always is a comedy that keeps audiences on the edge of their seats while making sure they never forget to enjoy the show,” organizers said.

The immersive format allows guests to experience both the play and the investigation happening around them, blurring the line between performance and reality.

Adding to the experience, each show includes a full dinner catered by Castiglia’s Italian Grill, allowing attendees to enjoy a meal while the mystery unfolds.

Director Bleu Do’zia said the production reflects Selah Theatre Project’s mission to create engaging, community-focused performances.

The cast features Marina Politano as the director, Desirae Zentz as Wanda, John Paul Frank as Fritz, Pamela Foster as Henry, Kyle Gatlin as Blake, and Jacob Reed as Detective Mamet, along with a full supporting cast.

Performances are scheduled for May 22 and 23 at 6 p.m., and May 24 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $45, and reservations are recommended due to limited seating.

Selah Theatre Project serves audiences across Warren County and the Shenandoah Valley, producing work that encourages conversation and connection through the arts.
