Money has become a bit of a taboo subject in American culture.  Along with religion and politics, few other topics that are so eagerly avoided among friends at the dinner table.

These discussions will enable people to avoid mistakes, make better decisions, and set goals that can actually be met with purpose.  Forbes magazine suggests that talking about finances with friends can help avoid unnecessary, expensive meals and entertainment that might bust a budget.
