A Sunday evening fire caused extensive damage to a home in the Apple Mountain West subdivision in Linden, according to a media release from Warren County Fire Chief Richard Mabie.

Around 5:20 p.m. Sunday, Mabie said, fire and rescue units were dispatched for a reported house fire at 622 Brandy Road in Linden.  Arriving on scene, firefighters found a single story home with the back deck on fire, as well as fire spread throughout the first floor and showing through the roof.

Chief Mabie said the home’s occupant escaped from the burning house and had begun extinguishing the fire. It took firefighters from six county companies about 30 minutes to bring the fire under control, but firefighters remained on the scene for several hours ensuring the fire and hot spots were fully extinguished.

The home’s occupant was displaced by the fire, according to the release, “with only the clothes he had on” and is receiving help from the American Red Cross.

There were no injuries in the incident, which is under investigation by the Warren County Fire and Rescue’s Fire Marshal’s office.  The fire caused about $280,000 in property and contents damages.
