It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mark Allen Kisner, who passed away peacefully at his home on June 29, 2026, at the age of 68.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 13, 2026, at 2 PM at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal, with Sammy Campbell officiating.  Burial will follow at Howellsville Cemetery, Front Royal.

Born on August 22, 1957, Mark was the son of Rachel Stacey Thompson and Harry Carl Kisner Sr. He was a man of kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family. He touched the lives of many with his sense of humor, willingness to help others, and the friendships he built throughout his life.

Mark is survived by his wife, Nena Kisner; his former wife, Robin McDonald, the mother of his daughters; Diana Thomas (Martin) and Sherri Kisner; his stepsons, Robert Smith III (Jessica) and David Allen Smith; his cherished grandchildren, Colby Hill, Tyler Hill, Hailey Smith, and James Rawls Jr.; his brother, Harry Carl Kisner Jr., and sister-in-law, Julie Pamplin Shenk; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rachel Stacey Thompson and Harry Carl Kisner Sr.; his stepson, Justin Tobin; his nephew, Michael Kisner; his sister-in-law, Terry Kisner; and his lifelong best friend, Ricky Costello.

Pallbearers will be Colby Hill, Tyler Hill, James Rawls Jr., Noah Kisner, Grayson Kisner, and Jimmy Fincham.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Rawls, Robert Smith III, David Smith, Michael McDonald, Michael McDonald Jr., Roger Cameron, Michael Williams, Phillip Henry, Jonathan Kisner, Damien Padgett, and John Taylor Jr.

Mark had a passion for the outdoors, especially hunting. He loved listening to music and was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, rarely missing an opportunity to cheer on his favorite football team. He was also a proud member of the Front Royal Moose Lodge and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, where he formed many lasting friendships over the years. Above all, Mark cherished spending time with his family and friends, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

His greatest legacy is the love he shared with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Maddox Funeral Home to assist with funeral arrangements.
