Rotary Club of Warren County Boots and Bourbon Event to Benefit Blue Ridge Opportunities

Published

on

This Saturday, September 21st, the Rotary Club of Warren County will host its third annual “Boots and Bourbon” fundraiser at the 4-H Barn on Fairground Road. The event aims to raise funds for Blue Ridge Opportunities, a local non-profit organization that provides training and employment for people with disabilities. Blue Ridge Opportunities, often known as “BRO,” is seeking $100,000 to open a second location due to increased clientele.

A Fun-Filled Evening for a Good Cause

The evening starts with a special VIP bourbon tasting from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Bourbon enthusiasts can sample five premium bourbons selected by Ron Napier, a renowned bourbon connoisseur. For $150, guests can enjoy the unique flavors and learn more about the bourbon world from Napier, who has gained international recognition for his expertise.

General admission begins at 6:30 p.m., and the event offers all attendees a wide range of activities. The venue will be decorated in a country style, complete with hay bales and rustic charm. Attendees can look forward to an open bar sponsored by On Hue, line dancing lessons, live music by Off the Cuff, and even a mechanical bull ride.

“Come join us for a fantastic evening of fun, music, and community spirit,” says Jen Avery, one of the event organizers. “Even if you’re not a bourbon drinker, there’s something for everyone!”

Auction Items and Local Artwork

The fundraiser will also feature a live and silent auction with various items up for grabs, including a piece of original artwork by Shiloh Avery, Jen Avery’s daughter. Shiloh is a talented local artist known for her murals around town, and her artwork for this event is expected to spark a lively bidding war.

The auctions aim to significantly support Blue Ridge Opportunities in its quest for a second location, which is crucial given its growing number of clients. “We hope to make a big dent in their $100,000 goal,” Avery adds.

Ticket Information and Other Details

Tickets for the event are available for $100. They can be purchased at Jean’s Jewelers in Royal Plaza or Turning Leaf Realty Group, 28 E. Jackson St., or through any Rotary Club of Warren County member. Alternatively, tickets can be bought online via Eventbrite. The event will also feature delicious food prepared by Chef Devin Smith, ensuring a satisfying meal for all guests.

To ensure everyone gets home safely, the Rotary Club offers a “Five-Star Chauffeur Service” starting at 10 p.m. “If you feel like you’ve had one too many, we’re happy to help you get home,” says Avery, emphasizing the club’s commitment to promoting safety and responsibility.
