Scott Lloyd Announces Bid for Chairman of Warren County Republican Committee

Front Royal attorney and former Town Councilman Scott Lloyd has announced his candidacy for Chairman of the Warren County Republican Committee (WCRC). The election for Chairman will take place at the WCRC Mass meeting to be held at the Front Royal Fire Department, 221 N. Commerce Avenue, Front Royal, VA, 22630, on Thursday, February 12, at 7 pm. Doors open for registration at 6:00 pm.

Scott Lloyd, a Front Royal attorney and former town councilman, has announced his candidacy for chairman of the Warren County Republican Committee.

Lloyd brings experience in federal government, public policy, and local leadership. He previously served on Capitol Hill with Republican staff for a U.S. House subcommittee, worked in the public policy office of the Knights of Columbus on life, family, and religious liberty issues, and held two appointments at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services — first under President George W. Bush and later under President Donald Trump.

While at the Knights of Columbus, Lloyd helped draft pro-life legislation that has since been enacted in thirteen states with bipartisan support. He also participated in humanitarian missions to Iraq, assisting persecuted Christians, and established a 501(c)(3) organization to support related relief efforts.

During his service in the Trump Administration, Lloyd managed a $1.9 billion federal budget and supervised a staff of 225 employees, overseeing grants and contracts and participating in multi-agency emergency preparedness exercises related to border and humanitarian issues.

In private practice, Lloyd has represented clients in state and federal courts across Virginia and the United States, including before the Second, Fourth, and Fifth U.S. Courts of Appeals. Several of his recent cases have involved employment-related disputes arising from COVID-19 vaccine mandates and restrictions.

Lloyd was elected to the Front Royal Town Council in 2020 in a multi-candidate race, receiving the WCRC’s endorsement. He has worked consistently at the polls for Republican candidates since 2020 and currently serves as Secretary of the Warren County Republican Committee.

He is a former board member of the Front Royal Pregnancy Center. He has served in leadership roles within the local Knights of Columbus chapter, participating in various community service initiatives.

If elected Chairman, Lloyd has identified three priorities:

Election Integrity. Lloyd proposes reviewing voter rolls to ensure accuracy and residency compliance and fostering discussion on the verification of provisional, absentee, and mail-in ballots. He has also expressed interest in exploring hand-counting of ballots and limiting reliance on voting machines, potentially retaining them only as backup systems.

Increasing Republican Voter Turnout. Lloyd plans to re-engage former WCRC members, expand outreach efforts, and grow active participation within the committee.

Promoting Conservative Governance. Lloyd supports using WCRC meetings to encourage discussion of local policy issues and to promote accountability to conservative principles, including limited government and low taxes.

Lloyd is a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He and his wife, Annie, have lived in Front Royal since 2010 and are raising their nine children in the community. He operates Lloyd Law Group, PLLC, in Front Royal.

All legal and qualified voters of Warren County under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, regardless of race, religion, national origin or sex, who are in accord with the principles of the Republican Party and who, if requested, express in open meeting either orally or in writing as may be required, their intent to support all of its nominees for public office in the ensuing election, may participate as members of the Republican Party of Virginia in its mass meetings, party canvasses, conventions or primaries encompassing their respective election districts.
