Express Your Library Love, Give From the Heart!

Published

on

February is “National Library Lovers’ Month.” Samuels Public Library is celebrating with its 5th Annual Day of Giving on Thursday, February 22nd. A generous donor, who loves the Library, has committed to matching all donations made throughout the month of February – up to $5,000. Your gift – no matter what size – along with this incredible match, will allow us to continue improving the Library and showing our love for the community.

“My favorite Facebook post this year was by my friend and regular library patron who encouraged everyone to check their pockets and couch cushions for loose change and then throw their change in the clear donation box at the library. It was such a creative idea! It reminded everyone that any donation, large or small, supports our library and binds us together as a community” said Melody Hotek, President of the Samuels Public Library Board of Trustees. “I’m so proud of all the free programs and services offered by the Library and can’t wait to see what this year brings. I know I’ll be looking through my coat pockets this February for Love Your Library Month and maybe in my cookie jar too!”

Samuels Library’s new Director, Erin Rooney, emphasized the impact donations to this campaign can make. “National Library Lovers’ Month is a fun way to support your local library! We have an amazing team that strives to provide free and easy access to a wide range of information and ideas for the residents of Front Royal and Warren County. This is a wonderful opportunity to enhance and expand on these services to better support our entire community.”

Previous Day of Giving donations have allowed the Library to make improvements not covered by its operating budget, such as last year’s renovations in the Youth Department, including painting the entire department, remodeling the Young Adult section, and moving and replacing the reference desk to improve flow and accommodate more staff and volunteers.

Much of the success for the Annual Day of Giving over the years has been driven by the incredible commitment made by matching donors. “We are beyond grateful to our current anonymous donor for recognizing the importance of the services the library provides with their generous Day of Giving Matching Grant. Every Dollar donated in February will go twice as far in bringing new services and exciting improvements to what the library already provides,” Rooney explained.

Make your donation by February 22nd to DOUBLE your impact! DONATE NOW
