Clear The Path: Join the Effort at Shenandoah River State Park

Published

on

Shenandoah River State Park invites the community to a trail-clearing event on Saturday, August 3. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the scenic Massanutten Shelter Parking Lot.

The park’s rangers and volunteers will embark on a 2.5-mile hike to remove plants and weeds from the sides of some of the park’s most popular trails. This effort aims to enhance the park’s beauty and ensure safe, enjoyable trails for all visitors.

The park will provide all the necessary equipment for the task. However, participants are encouraged to bring a water bottle, sunscreen, and bug spray to stay comfortable throughout the morning’s activities.

This is a great opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of Shenandoah River State Park, engage in meaningful conservation work, and connect with fellow nature enthusiasts.

For more information about the event, please email AmeriCorps Member Zach Mal at zachmalbusiness@gmail.com or call the park’s interpretative office at (540) 622-2262.
