John D. “Johnny” Williams III, 63, of Gerrardstown, West Virginia, and formerly of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 15, 2025, at his home.

Services will be private.

Johnny was born July 10, 1962, in Front Royal, Virginia, the son of Janet Williams of Front Royal and the late John D. “Sonny” Williams Jr.

He was a graduate of Warren County High School, Class of 1981. After high school, Johnny enlisted in the United States Navy, serving for four years.

He is the loving father of Kristen Baumann (Josh) of Versailles, Missouri, and Josh Williams of Reliance, Virginia, and the proud grandfather of Anthony and Jasmine Baumann. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Susan Williams; mother, Janet Williams; sisters, Sharon Matthews (Howard) and Karyn Williams (Jim); and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Sonny Williams; brother, Jason Paul Williams; and grandparents, JD and Ruby Williams, and James and Madeline Flint.

Along with being the most loving father and grandpa, he will lovingly be remembered as “My Johnny” by his children.

Johnny was a friend to many, always bringing laughter to them all. He was a long-time employee of Interbake Foods, where he made many friendships. Johnny enjoyed nature, fishing in the Outer Banks, and enjoying life outdoors as much as he possibly could.

He will be loved and missed by so many family members and friends.
