Norman Frederick “Butch” Kerns Sr. (1951 – 2025)

Norman Frederick “Butch” Kerns Sr., 74, of Cross Junction, Virginia, passed away suddenly on Monday, October 13, 2025 at the Winchester Medical Center.

All services will be private.

Butch was born June 30, 1951 in Front Royal, Virginia, son of the late John William Kerns Sr. and Maude Lee Minnix Kerns.

He retired after many dedicated years from Giant Foods.

Surviving is a son, Chris Kerns and wife Nikki of Cross Junction; three daughters, Melissa Dinges and husband Mike of New Market, Missi Kay Merritt of Augusta, West Virginia, and Heather Kerns Tyler and husband Drew of Lillington, North Carolina; one brother, George N. Kerns Sr. and wife Robin of Luray; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents; son, Butchie Kerns; grandson, Little Butchie; and seven siblings.
