Mindful Monday: Just breathe
“Just breathe.” At stressful moments, you might hear a friend tell you to breathe. Do you know why? Taking a deep slow breath is very calming both mentally and physically. Better yet, the response is almost instant!
It is important also to breathe during exercise. Our busy muscles need good oxygen circulation for top performance and endurance. Our brains need oxygen to help us focus and make good decisions while studying or working. Breathing is so important for almost everything we do!
Breathing is also very important when meditating. If you have a hard time quieting your mind, try focusing on your breath. You might just forget about your worries and settle in to a more grounded feeling and calm!
