David Andrew Burke (1985 – 2026)

David Andrew Burke, 41, of Sperryville, Virginia, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2026, at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville while battling cancer.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, August 14, 2026, at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 W. Main Street, Front Royal, Virginia 22630, with Pastor Fred Singleton officiating. The family invites guests to visit one hour prior to the service.

David was born April 4, 1985, at Fauquier Hospital. He graduated from Rappahannock High School in 2003.

He was a very hard worker and worked at Augusta Lumber in Amissville for 14 years as a manager. David was known to many people as Andrew, Andy, or Drew.

He is survived by his daughter, Aubrey Taylor Burke of Sperryville, Virginia, who meant the world to him. He lived and worked for Aubrey. Aubrey’s mom, Angela Bywaters, would always work with David to plan events and spend time together with Aubrey.

He is also survived by his mother and stepfather, Beverly and Robert Exline of Washington, Virginia; his father and stepmother, Ray and Carol Burke of Vermont; his step-brothers, Jacob Burke and Tony Burke; his grandmother, Alice Racer of Washington, Virginia; and his aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who all loved him very much.

David’s high school friends that he hung out with mostly included Doug White, Dusty White, and Torsten Hermansen. They all had some great times together that will never be forgotten!

Honorary pallbearers will be Doug White, Dustin White, Torsten Hermansen, Jason Streightiff, Jacob Burke, Tony Burke, Larry Laudermilk, Michael Devore, Austin Huff, Zach Huff, Danny Huff, and David Campbell.
