Samuels Public Library Welcomes Erin Rooney as New Director

Erin, an integral part of the library team since 2015, takes over the reins on February 1, 2024. Erin’s journey with Samuels Public Library began nearly a decade ago, and her rise through the ranks is nothing short of inspiring. A graduate of James Madison University, she further honed her skills by earning a Master of Library Science Degree from the University of North Texas. Her multifaceted experience within the library, especially as the Adult Reference Supervisor since 2020, has equipped her with a deep understanding of the library’s operations and community needs.

Known for her enthusiasm and commitment to excellence, Erin has been instrumental in shaping the library’s diverse offerings. From children’s services to adult reference, her touch has been evident across various departments. Her role in hiring and training both the Reference and Technical Services staff showcases her leadership and vision for a collaborative and efficient team.
