Sky Meadows Hosts Annual Friends Picnic with Hayrides and Farm Fun

Published

on

Supporters of Sky Meadows State Park will gather for an afternoon of celebration and community on Saturday, June 14, from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the annual Friends of Sky Meadows (FOSK) Member Farm Picnic. The event will take place behind the park’s historic dairy barn, located just steps from the Visitor Center.

Open to current and prospective Friends of Sky Meadows members, the picnic offers a chance to connect with other park lovers and enjoy the rural charm of the park’s farm area. Guests can look forward to hayrides, meet-and-greets with farm animals, and light refreshments—all set against the backdrop of Sky Meadows’ scenic pastures and historic buildings.

Those who are not yet members of FOSK are welcome to sign up at the event or register online at friendsofskymeadows.org. Annual membership includes access to exclusive events like this picnic, plus program passes throughout the year that support Sky Meadows’ educational and conservation initiatives.

Whether you’re a long-time member or a first-time visitor, the farm picnic is a family-friendly way to enjoy the park and learn more about how FOSK helps preserve its natural beauty and historical legacy.

Children are welcome, and standard park admission ($10 per vehicle) applies. No registration is required in advance. For questions or details, contact the park office at 540-592-3556 or email SkyMeadows@dcr.virginia.gov.
