Community Invited to Shape Programs at New Student Union

Published

on

The doors to the Student Union & Activity Center will open in just three short months! This is a remarkable milestone, and the organizers extend their heartfelt thanks to everyone for their unwavering support in reaching this point. The saying “it takes a village” truly resonates, and now they need the community’s help to ensure local youth have the best possible experience at the Student Success Center.

The organizers invite everyone to a Program & Volunteer Planning Session on Monday, August 5th, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Center. A continental breakfast will be served. During this session, the goal is to create engaging programming for students, and community participation can make a real difference. Attendees are encouraged to bring programming ideas, whether a workshop on interviewing skills, a cooking class, chess, art, choral, piano, life skills, or gardening. The organizers eagerly want to hear from everyone and get these ideas on the calendar.

There are also opportunities to volunteer at the Center to assist with scheduled programs and tutor students. The involvement of volunteers is invaluable, and the organizers would love to schedule volunteers on the calendar, too.

The goal of this Planning Session is to be a platform where everyone can pool their creative energy to develop an incredible student experience. The organizers hope that many will attend and join them on this exciting journey.

Please RSVP to Karen Peer by Thursday, August 1st, at karen.peer@sysco.com.
