Holiday Bazaar Brings Cheer to Warren County High School

Published

on

The holiday spirit is alive and well at Warren County High School! On Saturday, December 14th, the school will host its 4th Annual Holiday Bazaar from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the cafeteria. Packed with local vendors, crafts, and community fun, the event promises something for everyone and celebrates creativity and giving.

This year’s event will feature 50 vendors, showcasing an eclectic mix of handcrafted items such as crocheted gifts, 3D art, homemade wreaths, decorative bottles, leather goods, and custom photo rings and necklaces. Shoppers can also find stocking stuffers like dog and cat treats, popcorn, and tie-dye creations. Many of the items are crafted by local artisans and small business owners, supporting the vibrant entrepreneurial spirit in the area.

Supporting Students and the Community

The bazaar is more than just a shopping event—it is a fundraiser organized by Warren County High School’s Cat Pack, a group dedicated to supporting school and community needs. Principal Ken Kinesh and organizer Nora McMackin explained how proceeds from the event benefit programs like senior class activities, team meals, and even emergency family assistance.

“When a need arises—whether for supplies, meals, or matching a fundraiser to help a family in crisis—the Cat Pack steps in,” McMackin shared.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, the DECA Club will sell breakfast and lunch to raise funds for their activities. Vendors who bring a new, unwrapped toy will receive a free meal voucher. Other student groups, such as the FCCLA, FFA, and Spanish Club, will also have booths at the bazaar.

Fun for All Ages

For those looking for a bit of holiday fun, the event includes a 50/50 raffle, with each vendor contributing an item to the prize pool. Shoppers can purchase tickets and place them in bags corresponding to their favorite items for a chance to win.

“You can buy ten tickets and spread them out or put them all toward one item you really want,” McMackin explained.

Holiday Cheer Continues

The Holiday Bazaar is just one of many festive events at the school this December. On Sunday, December 15th, the Winter Band Concert will take center stage, while the theater department will perform a Reader’s Theatre Christmas Carol on December 19th. The week wraps up with the school’s holiday sing-along, an ugly sweater contest, and student-led trivia games on December 20th—adding fun before winter break begins.

Principal Kinesh highlighted the value of these events: “They create a sense of community and make school a place kids want to be.”

Join the Celebration

Don’t miss this chance to shop local, support a good cause, and soak in the holiday cheer. Mark your calendar for December 14th and join the Warren County High School community for a day filled with joy and goodwill.
