Honey & Hops Brew Works Will Bring Back the Mead Mile Run on November 1 for Men’s Health Awareness and Fundraiser

On November 1, the day begins early for the team at Honey & Hops Brew Works on Main Street, a day dedicated to men’s health, with a “mead mile” run, followed by a festival of vendors, accompanied by a live music venue that continues throughout the afternoon and early evening.

This is not the first time Honey & Hops has taken this initiative. Last year, the Mead Mile was a great success, with proceeds from the day benefiting Movember, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to men’s prostate cancer research and mental health awareness. The Honey & Hops team wants people to know that “this event is designed for locals and tourists alike—whether you’re here to cheer on the runners, grab a bite, explore local artisans, or enjoy a craft mead or beer, there’s something for everyone.”

Desiring to bring men out of isolation, the brewery joins a trend reflected by organizations like Men’s Alliance in recognizing the crisis in which a twenty-first-century American male finds himself: surrounded by every comfort but leading a life of quiet desperation. Get the heart pumping and form community bonds: it is a noble goal and a great way to raise support for a worthy nonprofit.

Community bonding is something that can happen anytime at the brewery. “Founded in early 2020 by three brothers from Alaska, Honey & Hops Brew Works is a family-run craft meadery located in the heart of Front Royal’s historic district. From the beginning, we’ve focused on creating a warm, family-friendly tasting room experience where everyone feels welcome. We specialize in small-batch craft mead, with a rotating menu of creative and ever-changing flavors that reflect both tradition and innovation. Whether you’re a longtime mead enthusiast or just curious to try something new, we aim to offer something memorable for every palate.”
