Nancy Gore Chapman (1944 – 2025)

Nancy Gore Chapman, 81, of Stephens City, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025, in the comfort of her home.

A memorial service will take place at 2:30 P.M. on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 W. Main Street, Front Royal, Virginia 22630, with Reverend Bertina Westley officiating. A visitation will take place three hours before the service. Following all services, her interment will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery.

Nancy was born on September 29, 1944, in Front Royal, Virginia, to the late John Walter and Esther Kipps Hoskins Gore. She is also preceded in death by her son, Brian Neal Chapman.

Surviving Nancy are her loving husband of 62 years, Douglas Lee Chapman, and her three nieces, Lynn Jenkins, Sharon Cabiness, and Pam Scott.

Nancy retired from the United States Army Corps of Engineers and also worked for the phone company and FEMA. She was a member of Stephens City United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W Cork Street, #405, Winchester, Virginia 22601.
