Update: The Front Royal Police Department would like to thank the citizens who promptly contacted our agency and assisted with the identification of the male involved in this incident. Their cooperation allowed officers to fully investigate the matter.

All parties involved have been interviewed. After consultation with the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, it was determined that prosecution will be declined, and no charges will be pursued.

The Front Royal Police Department remains committed to the safety of our community and appreciates the continued support and cooperation of our citizens.

On Thursday, August 14, 2025, at approximately 4:30 p.m., a juvenile was running on Leach Run Parkway when an older male approached her. The male briefly spoke with the juvenile and grabbed her wrist. The juvenile told the male she needed to leave and was able to leave the area and contact authorities.

A second juvenile reported that she was also approached by the same male around this time. In both encounters, the male attempted to speak with the juveniles.

The juveniles described the male as being in his late 70s, of Middle Eastern descent, with white hair, a slim build, and wearing a grey flannel shirt and pants.

Officers canvassed the area but were unable to locate the individual. Several neighbors reported being familiar with the male and advised that he is frequently seen walking in the area. At this time, the male’s intentions are unknown, and this incident remains under investigation.

The Front Royal Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying this male so officers can speak with him regarding the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact Sergeant K.E. Orndorff at (540) 635-2111 or korndorff@frontroyalva.com.

As a precaution, officers will be increasing patrols in the Leach Run Parkway area.
