Virginia State Police Recover 68 Firearms, Seize 36 Pounds of Narcotics in Weekly Operation

Virginia State Police (VSP), working alongside federal and local law enforcement partners, recovered dozens of firearms and seized more than 36 pounds of narcotics during ongoing crime suppression operations conducted February 11 through February 17, 2026.

According to the weekly enforcement report, authorities recovered 68 firearms, valued at approximately $34,500, along with 638 controlled substance pills.

Narcotics Seizures

Troopers seized a total of 36.7 pounds of narcotics, with an estimated $1.26 million in denied revenue to criminal enterprises.

The breakdown of narcotics recovered includes:

  • Cocaine: 9.2 pounds
  • Crack Cocaine: 4.0 ounces
  • Marijuana: 14.7 pounds
  • Heroin: 4.0 ounces
  • Methamphetamine: 6.8 pounds
  • Psilocybin: 2.4 pounds
  • Fentanyl: 3.1 pounds
  • Fentanyl Pills: 638
  • Designer Drugs: 9.2 ounces

In addition, officers seized $45,797 in U.S. currency during enforcement activities.

Human Trafficking and Gaming Enforcement

The report also highlights continued investigative efforts targeting human trafficking and illegal gaming operations.

During the reporting period:

  • 11 new human trafficking tips were received (1,529 total tips to date).
  • 227 cases have been investigated or remain under investigation.
  • 3,987 individual investigative activities have been conducted.
  • 84 victims have been identified and offered services.

Gaming enforcement efforts generated 6 new tips, bringing the cumulative total to 2,086.

Ongoing Efforts

State Police emphasized that the operations are part of ongoing crime suppression initiatives aimed at disrupting violent crime and organized criminal activity across the Commonwealth.

“The Virginia State Police remain steadfast in their mission to enhance public safety and uphold the laws throughout the Commonwealth while supporting the Governor’s initiatives on violent crime,” the agency said in its statement.

The weekly report reflects coordinated efforts between state, local, and federal agencies to combat narcotics trafficking, illegal firearms possession, human trafficking, and other criminal enterprises.
