Overnight ramp closures on I-66 outside the Beltway this week at I-495, Route 123, and Sudley Road

FAIRFAX, Va. – Temporary ramp closures and detours are scheduled during overnight hours this week at three interchanges on I-66. The closures at I-495, Route 123, and Route 234 Business will allow overhead gantry removal and other construction activities for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
Details include:
Monday, October 1: Ramp from I-66 East to Sudley Road (Route 234 Business)
- The ramp from eastbound I-66 to Sudley Road (Route 234 Business) will be closed during Monday night’s overnight hours from midnight to 4 a.m. for emergency repairs to a crash attenuator. Traffic will be detoured to Exit 44/Prince William Parkway (Route 234 Bypass) South, then turn left on Balls Ford Road to Sudley Road (Route 234 Business).

Friday, October 5: Ramps from I-66 West to I-495 South
- The ramps from westbound I-66 to southbound I-495 Express Lanes and regular lanes will be closed during Friday night’s overnight hours from midnight to 4 a.m. Drivers will be detoured to the exit for southbound Nutley Street (Route 243), stay to the right for I-66 East, then follow signs to I-495 South.

Saturday, October 6: Ramp from Chain Bridge Road (Route 123) South to I-66 West
- Right lane of southbound Chain Bridge Road (Route 123) closed from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.
- The ramp from Chain Bridge Road (Route 123) South to I-66 West will be closed during Saturday night’s overnight hours between midnight and 4 a.m. Traffic will be detoured to the ramp for I-66 East, stay to the right for Chain Bridge Road (Route 123) North, and then follow signs to I-66 West.

All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
