New gallery in Front Royal steps outside of the box

FRONT ROYAL, VA – Local fine art photographer Scott Turnmeyer, and his wife Pam, have decided to step out of their home-based business, known as Scott Turnmeyer Photography, and follow their dreams of opening a Gallery/Boutique Gifts location.

Scott, who has been a professional photographer in both sports, media, fine art, portraits, wedding and commercial photography for over 10 years, also started teaching classes in the area approximately 5 years ago. Two years ago, Scott started offering photographer workshops in the Shenandoah National Park. Scott’s passion for capturing nature and wildlife has caught the eyes of many followers as he began having exhibitions and showings in galleries; all the time dreaming of one day having their own gallery to showcase his work, teach his classes, act as a base of operations for their workshops and to help showcase other local artists.

This dream has been in the works for many years as the two searched for what they felt was the right location. Scott has always looked to be “different” in his work, finding different angles that other photographers have not tried, looking at different lighting techniques, or getting up and going out into town on a frozen night in December at 1am (with Pam) to capture his most popular piece of the Front Royal Gazebo during Christmas Time. They wanted the gallery to follow the same pattern: Being different… stepping outside of the box.

They decided that the right place for them was not a shopping center in Front Royal, not the quaint and beautiful Main Street area in Front Royal, but rather a location in the middle of quite possibly one of the busiest traveled roadways in Warren County: South Street. The vehicle traffic alone is impressive, but what has always caught their eye is that every year, 400,000 people enter the Shenandoah National Park through the Front Royal Entrance Station. A great number of those travel right past this location on their journeys, and they are one of the key demographics for Turnmeyer Galleries.

But location isn’t the only thing that they have stepped out of the box with. Scott and Pam didn’t want an upscale art galley that only showcased high priced items from artisans, they wanted something for everyone, Tourists and locals alike. They set out to locate brands of jewelry, candles and other gift items that would cater to all demographics, but not break the bank either. While they surely have works from Scott and other artisans that are priced in the several hundreds of dollars, any fan of their work can still come in and buy something for as little as a dollar; Something for everyone.

Scott and Pam are members of the Front Royal/Warren County Chamber of Commerce, and both are active members of the Cedarville Ruritan Club.

You can visit Scott and Pam in their new location on 300 South Street in Front Royal, Virginia. Their Grand Opening is on October 5, 2019, with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 10am. There will be light refreshments throughout the day. For more information, visit www.turnmeyergalleries.com, email info@turnmeyer.com, or call/text them at 540-692-9550.
