George Cline Jr. Announces Run for Fork District School Board Seat

Warren County resident George E. Cline Jr. has officially announced his candidacy for the Fork District seat on the Warren County School Board. Cline, a graduate of Warren County High School and a proud parent of public school alumni says his decision to run stems from a deep commitment to education, career readiness, and the well-being of teachers in the district.

“I’m running to ensure our students receive a quality education and the tools they need to succeed in life,” Cline said in his announcement. “That includes strong support for our teachers and alternative education paths like the one I followed.”

Cline’s connection to local education runs deep. Not only did he graduate from the county school system, but he also studied carpentry at the Blue Ridge Technical Center—an experience he credits with helping shape his professional path. Years later, he served on the center’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) board for four years, gaining insight into the value and needs of vocational programs.

“Blue Ridge Tech Center played a meaningful role in my journey,” he said. “I’ll advocate for more classes, an expanded facility, and the tools needed to support hands-on education.”

Cline emphasized that his campaign will focus heavily on practical solutions to strengthen local schools and ensure teachers are respected, supported, and fairly compensated.

“It’s unacceptable that many teachers are still purchasing classroom supplies out of their own pockets,” he said. “Salaries have long been an issue; we need to understand why. The only way I know how to get answers is to get involved, get educated, and learn how the system works.”

Should he be elected, Cline said he would seek a clear understanding of the budget process and work closely with the Warren County Board of Supervisors to ensure the school system is funded responsibly. His approach centers on collaboration and transparency.

“I support responsible funding, but I do not support any form of defunding—under any circumstances,” Cline stated. “There’s no reason two governing bodies can’t agree, especially when both sides are willing to communicate in good faith.”

A lifelong resident of the area, Cline says he is deeply invested in Warren County’s future and believes the community deserves leadership that understands its values, listens to its people, and is committed to building a school system that serves every student, college-bound or not.

The election for Warren County School Board seats will be held on November 4, 2025. Cline encourages residents of the Fork District to stay engaged and informed as the campaign moves forward.

“Stay tuned for more updates—and remember to vote George E. Cline Jr. for Fork District School Board,” he said.
