VDOT: Warren County Traffic Alert for June 30 – July 4, 2025

The following is a list of highway work that may impact traffic in Warren County during the upcoming weeks. Scheduled work is subject to change due to inclement weather and material supply issues. Motorists are advised to watch for slow-moving tractors during mowing operations. When traveling through a work zone, be alert to periodic changes in traffic patterns and lane closures.

INTERSTATE 66
Mile marker 2 to 0, westbound – Shoulder closures for road work related to I-81 southbound widening, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through July 4.

INTERSTATE 81
*NEW* Mile marker 299 to 300, northbound – Overnight alternating lane closures for bridge maintenance, 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday night.

*NEW* Mile marker 299 to 300, northbound – Right shoulder closures for traffic equipment maintenance, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.

Mile marker 299 to 300, northbound and southbound – Overnight left lane closures for median barrier installation and construction equipment entrances, 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. through the night of July 3. Daytime shoulder closures for sign work, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through July 4. Traffic restrictions are related to the I-81 widening project.

PRIMARY ROADS
Route 340 (Winchester Road) – Northbound and southbound single-lane closures between Route 637 (Guard Hill Road) and Route 655 (Country Club Road) for painting of the Crooked Run bridge and the I-66 bridge over 340, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through June 30.

SECONDARY ROADS
Route 610 (Bucks Mill Road) – Closed to through traffic between Route 55 (Strasburg Road) and Route 626 (Andrews Road) for bridge repairs, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through August 18.

Route 658 (Rockland Road) – Closed to through traffic between Route 340/522 (Winchester Road) and Route 705 (Fishnet Boulevard) for construction of bridge over Norfolk Southern Railway. Follow the posted detour. Estimated completion December 2025.

Vegetation management may take place district-wide on various routes. VDOT reminds motorists to use extreme caution when traveling through work zones.
