Anna Catherine Cockrell, 94, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2025, at Evergreen Health and Rehabilitation in Winchester, Virginia.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 6 to 8 PM at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal.
Mrs. Cockrell was born on May 21, 1931, in Clifton, Virginia, to the late Charles and Josephine Ritzer Cockrell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Edward Detwiler Sr., and four siblings. She retired from the Warren County School Board.
Survivors include her three sons, Gordon E. Detwiler Jr. of Front Royal, Charles Nelson Detwiler of Waterlick, Virginia, and Earl Richard Detwiler of Petersburg, Virginia; her daughter, Jonnie Hicks of Strasburg, Virginia; her sister, Jessie Timmons of Winchester; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
