Fauquier Health Reports More Than $40 Million in 2025 Community Impact

Fauquier Health, a 97-bed acute care hospital in Warrenton, reported more than $40 million in community and economic impact in 2025, reflecting its role as both a healthcare provider and a major regional employer.

The figures were released as part of the hospital’s 2025 Community Benefit Report, which highlights Fauquier Health’s investments in patient care, community programs, workforce development, charitable support, and healthcare services across the region.

“Fauquier Health’s mission of making communities healthier is at the heart of everything we do,” said Rebecca Segal, FACHE, president and CEO of Fauquier Health. “It is deeply embedded in how we provide high-quality care for patients, expand and enhance our services, and make meaningful investments to promote the health and economic growth of our region.”

According to the report, Fauquier Health provided nearly $23.8 million in charity and uncompensated care during 2025, including care for uninsured patients and others unable to pay for services. The hospital said the commitment reflects its goal of ensuring access to care regardless of a patient’s financial situation.

The report also detailed more than $1.5 million in financial and in-kind contributions to local organizations and community programs. Supported organizations included the Fauquier Free Clinic, Fauquier Food Bank, Fauquier FISH, Fauquier County Schools, Fauquier County NAACP, Salvation Army, Learning Starts Early, Veterans Service Organizations, and the Mental Health Association of Fauquier County.

Fauquier Health also continued investing in facilities and medical technology during the year, reporting more than $2.3 million in capital improvements. Those upgrades included fetal monitors, cardiac monitors, the Omnicell medication management system, and an ultrasound machine for interventional radiology and medical imaging.

To help meet growing healthcare demands in the region, the hospital added providers in several specialties, including gastroenterology, nephrology, family medicine, orthopedics, podiatry, infectious disease, and obstetrics and gynecology.

The report highlighted Fauquier Health’s role as a major employer in the area. In 2025, the hospital distributed more than $61.3 million in salaries, wages, and benefits to approximately 650 employees. The organization also invested in professional development and tuition assistance programs aimed at workforce growth and training.

In addition, Fauquier Health paid more than $14.3 million in taxes during the year, including provider taxes, payroll taxes, sales taxes, and property taxes.

“For us, healthcare is personal,” Segal said. “We have the honor and privilege of caring for friends, neighbors and family members. We strive every day to offer the best possible care — with the highest quality and the greatest compassion.”

The hospital also received national recognition in 2025 as a Leapfrog Top General Hospital for the second consecutive year. Fauquier Health said it was the only hospital in Virginia and one of only 52 hospitals nationwide to receive the designation.

Community outreach efforts during the year included “In the Pink,” a women’s health and wellness event, and a Chamber of Commerce program that gave community members an inside look at the hospital’s robotic surgery program.

Fauquier Health includes the hospital campus in Warrenton, The Villa at Suffield Meadows assisted living facility, and multiple physician offices and specialty practices throughout the region.
