James A. Black, beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on November 21, 1942, James lived a life defined by kindness, integrity, and unwavering dedication to the people he loved. James was the proud father of three children: Jimmy Black, Sandra Black, and Greg Black. His love continued through his four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him tremendous joy. To them, he was a source of wisdom, humor, and unconditional support. He is also survived by his brother, Eugene Black, with whom he shared a lifelong bond, and by whom he built, owned, and operated B&B Excavating, a business he poured his heart into and that became a testament to his skill.

James A. Black

Throughout his life, James was known for his strong work ethic, his quick wit, and his ability to make anyone feel welcome. He approached every day with motivation and a warm little smirk that never faded, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

James cherished time with his family and friends above all else. He had a love for dancing, music, the outdoors, and competition. He loved cooking out, poolside, and playing cornhole, talking smack, and creating memories that will be treasured for generations. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and a sense of steady calm. He was a man of business with a beautiful soul, well respected, and had great family values. He was a generous man and believed in paying it forward, while helping many along the way.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his legacy of love, resilience, and generosity will live on in the hearts of family and friends. His love continues through his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. To them, he was a source of wisdom, humor, and unconditional support.
