World Cube Association competition comes to LFCC
More than 100 twisty puzzle (e.g., Rubik’s Cube) enthusiasts will descend on LFCC’s Middletown Campus Saturday, Sept. 2, for Rally in the Valley 2017, a World Cube Association competition.
The 115-competitor limit has been reached, and there is a lengthy waiting list. The judged event, which runs from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Corron Community Development Center, will include competitions in the traditional 3×3 Rubik’s Cube, as well as 2×2, 4×4, pyramid and Skewb puzzles. Additionally, competitors will be blindfolded in one event.
The public is invited to come to the competition on Saturday, as well as to activities sponsored by LFCC’s Cyber Advocates Club on Friday, Sept. 1, in the Fredy & Klara Kummli Student Center in Fairfax Hall. Activities, scheduled for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., include demonstrations in solving the Rubik’s Cube, cyber challenges, NSA Day of Cyber Opportunity, and robotics. Prizes will be given.
