Open Air Burn Ban Issued for Front Royal and Warren County
Published
1 year agoon
Effective March 26, 2025, the Town of Front Royal and Warren County have enacted an open-air burn ban in response to ongoing drought conditions and increased fire risk. The ban, issued by the Fire Marshal, will remain in effect until further notice.
All forms of open-air burning are strictly prohibited, including:
-
Bonfires
-
Ceremonial fires
-
Campfires
-
Barrel fires
-
Land clearing burns
The ban is being enforced under the Virginia Statewide Fire Prevention Code to protect public safety amid extreme atmospheric conditions.
Exemptions: Barbecue grills, smokers, and cooking devices that use chimneys or stacks to emit smoke are not affected by this ban.
Violations are serious. Anyone found burning in violation of this order may receive a criminal summons and face penalties up to a Class 1 Misdemeanor.
Residents with questions should contact the Front Royal Fire Marshal’s Office or the Warren County Fire & Rescue Department for more information.
Help keep our community safe—no open burning until conditions improve.
