FRONT ROYAL – The 6th Annual Zombie Walk brought about 300 “undead” walkers to the Gazebo area of Downtown Front Royal on Saturday, Oct. 20, and a good time was apparently had by all!

The event was taken over this year by Royal Examiner and National Media from its creator and previous organizer for the last five years, Roxanne Bauserman after she announced that last year’s Zombie Walk would be the end of the popular October event.

This year, some new features were added to the event, such as a cool lanyard that could be shown at participating merchants along Main Street for discounts and/or specials.

Participants brought about 125 pounds of canned food to the Zombie Walk, which has been taken to CCAP.  The proceeds from the walk totaled $600 and will be split evenly between CCAP and the Front Royal Police Foundation.

The Fox 99.3 was instrumental in promoting the Zombie Walk and was on hand to lead off the parade of walkers Saturday evening with KISS 98.3 following the herd. Thanks to iHeart Radio for help round up Zombies in are area.

Royal Examiner and National Media would like to thank everyone for participating and attending the 6th Annual Zombie Walk!

We’d especially like to thank our Zombie friendly Main Street merchants: C&C Frozen Treats, Cafe Amore, Fireball Arcade, Front Royal Brewing Company, Gourmet Delights, Main Street Mill, Royal Cinemas, Soul Mountain, Strokes of Creativity, Tolliver Studios and Try Thai.
