Dance Club Shenandoah Celebrates 60 Years of Music and Movement
For nearly six decades, Dance Club Shenandoah has brought rhythm, connection, and community to the Shenandoah Valley. Now, the longtime group is preparing to mark a major milestone as it heads into its 60th season.
Founded in 1966, the club has become a favorite gathering place for ballroom and swing dancers. Members and guests meet every third Saturday from October through May in Front Royal, where live bands set the tone for evenings filled with music and movement.
The upcoming 2026–2027 season promises a lively lineup. Bands expected to perform include the Silver Tones, Back-to-Back, Jump Alley, Lillie and the Lushtones, and Darryl Brenzel. Organizers say the mix of familiar favorites and upbeat sounds helps create a welcoming space for dancers of all experience levels.
The club continues to open its doors to new members and visitors. Those who want to try a dance before joining can pay at the door, with admission set at $30 for adults and $15 for teens. Payments are accepted in cash or check.
Before the new season begins, the club will close out its current schedule with one final dance on Saturday, May 16, from 7 to 10 p.m. The event will take place at Celebration Hall, located at 266 Rockland Court inside the North Warren Fire Station. Organizers say the evening will offer a chance to celebrate another successful year and welcome newcomers to the dance floor.
Memberships for the 2026–2027 season are now available. Annual dues are $160 for adults, while a family membership, which includes one adult and any teens in the household, costs $240.
Club leaders say the goal remains the same as it has been for decades: to keep live music and social dancing alive in the region. As the group steps into its seventh decade, it continues to invite the community to join in and keep the tradition moving.
